We’ve designed this process to be as quick and easy as possible, so that you can start using your account straight away. Before we can open your account, we’ll need to verify your identity and may ask you for some additional information. We recommend reading our terms and conditions before applying.

You can also open a Macquarie Savings Account alongside your Macquarie Transaction Account as part of this application process.

We don’t have any deposit conditions on Transaction Accounts, Offset Accounts or Savings Accounts, to get access to our great benefits and earn interest.

For example, you don’t need to make a minimum monthly deposit to use the platinum benefits or make free ATM withdrawals.

We don’t charge fees on Transaction Accounts, Offset Accounts or Savings Accounts.

We provide free access to any rediATM and a refund on fees incurred at all other ATMs in Australia.

We don’t charge fees to withdraw cash overseas or make international purchases. Other financial institutions, such as the banks of international merchants and international ATM operators, may charge you fees for these transactions.

Lost or stolen card

If your card is lost or stolen, please let us know right away and we’ll cancel your card to protect your account and send you a replacement card as quickly as possible. In most cases, your new card will arrive in 5-10 business days.

Once you’ve reported your card lost or stolen, the card will be locked and you won’t be able to use it for transactions until you receive and activate your new card. You will need to update your direct debits with your new credit card number. Any additional cardholders on your account can continue using their card.

Misplaced Debit Mastercard

If you misplace your Debit Mastercard or Visa credit card, you can apply a temporary lock on your card to protect your account. This prevents new payments being made on your card, and in some cases may result in existing direct debits or authorised payments to be declined. You’ll need to review all direct debits and authorised payments connected to the account. You can unlock your card at any time.

To place a temporary lock on your card in Macquarie Online Banking:

  1. Select Accounts?from the side menu; or first click on the??icon in top left-hand corner to display the side menu
  2. Select the account
  3. Select the?Lost or stolen card tab
  4. Toggle to Lock card.
?You can unlock your card by following the steps above and selecting Unlock card.

To place a temporary lock on your card in the Macquarie Mobile Banking app:

  1. Select the card icon in the left side menu
  2. Scroll to the relevant card account
  3. Select Lock card
  4. Select Lock on the pop-up message.
You will need to add your new card to Apple Pay or Google Pay once you receive it.
